The Paulding County High School Band Directors

Aaron Toft - Director of Bands

Mr. Aaron Toft joined the Paulding County High School Band Program as Director of Bands in 2016.  Prior to serving as the Director at Paulding County, Mr. Toft was the Assistant Band Director at Hiram High School, served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Auburn University, and as Director of Bands at Manchester High School and Middle School in Manchester, Georgia.

 

Mr. Toft holds a Master of Education from Auburn University and a Bachelor Degree in Music Education from the University of Kentucky.  At Auburn, Mr. Toft was a conducting student of Dr. Richard Good and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant with the Auburn University Bands.  At the University of Kentucky, Mr. Toft studied under Dr. Skip Gray, Professor of Tuba and Euphonium, and conducting with Mr. George Boulden.

 

Mr. Toft has served on the instructional staff of the Macy’s Great American Marching Band and has also instructed at the Music For All Summer Symposium Student Leadership Symposium.  His performance experience includes performances with the University of Kentucky Symphonic Band, the Auburn University Symphonic Winds, and the Auburn University Concert Band.  Mr. Toft is a former member of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Rockford, IL and Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps.  Mr. Toft’s professional affiliations include membership in the Georgia Music Educators Association, the National Association for Music Educators, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Pi Kappa Lambda, and honorary membership in Kappa Kappa Psi.

 

Mr. Toft and his wife Molly currently reside in Acworth, Georgia with their daughters Emmalyn, Amelia, and their cat Harley.

Billie Rodriguez - Associate Director

Ms. Billie Rodriguez joined Paulding County High School in 2024 as the Associate Director of Bands.  Prior to PCHS, Ms. Rodriguez instructed various High School and Middle School percussion programs throughout Georgia and Alabama.  Ms. Rodriguez currently serves as the Front Ensemble Coordinator for the WGI Open-Class Finalist group Q2 and at the DCI All Age organization, Atlanta Corps Vets.

​

Ms. Rodriguez graduated with a Bachelors of Music Education degree from Jacksonville State University.  During her tenure there, she participated in the Marching Southerners, where she served her last two years as the front ensemble section leader.  She was also as member of the JSU Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Chamber Winds.  She primarily studied under Mr. Clint Gillespie and Dr. Matthew Jordan.

Ms. Rodriguez currently resides in Calhoun, Georgia with her two cats Otis and Bonnie.
