Aaron Toft - Director

Mr. Aaron Toft joined the Paulding County High School Band Program as Director of Bands in 2016.  Prior to serving as the Director at Paulding County, Mr. Toft was the Assistant Band Director at Hiram High School, served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Auburn University, and as Director of Bands at Manchester High School and Middle School in Manchester, Georgia.


Mr. Toft holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Auburn University.  At the University of Kentucky, Mr. Toft studied under Dr. Skip Gray, Professor of Tuba and Euphonium.  At Auburn University, Mr. Toft studied conducting under Director of Bands, Dr. Richard Good.


Mr. Toft’s performance experience includes performances with the University of Kentucky Symphonic Band, the Auburn University Symphonic Winds, the West Georgia Symphonic Winds, the Bob Barr Community Band, and the Sons of Jubal.  Mr. Toft is a former member of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Rockford, IL and Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps.  He has served on the staff of the Macy’s Great American Marching Band and has also served as a Director’s Track Assistant at the Music For All Summer Symposium.  Mr. Toft’s professional affiliations include membership in the Georgia Music Educators Association, the National Association for Music Educators, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Pi Kappa Lambda, and honorary membership in Kappa Kappa Psi.


Mr. Toft and his wife Molly currently reside in Acworth, Georgia with their daughter Emmalyn and their cat Harley.

Krista A. Berezo - Associate Director

Krista Berezo joined the Paulding County High School Band Program as Associate Director of Bands in 2014.  Previously she taught at Campbell High and Middle Schools in Cobb County for one year.  She taught the ninth grade band, 6th grade band, marching band, and assisted with all other areas of the 6-12th grades program.  Before Campbell, Mrs. Berezo taught at Harrison High School in Cobb County for one year as the third director of bands where she conducted the concert band and aided in the instruction of all other aspects of the band program.


Mrs. Berezo completed her Master’s Degree in Clarinet Performance in the studio of Dr. Kenneth Long at Georgia State University.  She sat principal chair in the University Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble.


She began her clarinet studies at the age of ten in San Diego, CA.  In the summer of 1999, she moved to Marietta, GA where she later attended Pope High School.  She continued studying clarinet privately, was involved in the marching band and the leadership team, and participated in numerous honor bands and the all-state band.  After graduating from high school in 2006, Mrs. Berezo enrolled in the clarinet studio of Dr. D. Ray McClellan where she spent one year of music education study at the University of Georgia.  In the fall of 2007, she transferred to Georgia State University where she became actively involved in CMENC as vice-president and president and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in the spring of 2010.  


While finishing her master program, Mrs. Berezo maintained a private clarinet studio and frequently taught sectionals and master classes at local middle and high schools.  Currently she is a member of GMEA and NAfME and resides with her husband, Andrew, in Woodstock, GA.
